Aspirations
When I graduate from University, I have several ideas I would like to pursue to find myself in a future that a Callum from the past would be very proud of.

As I am pursuing a career in the field of Audio Visual Maintenance, it may be difficult to get into a 9 to 5 job straight out of university as many companies or studios will be looking for individuals with a lot more experience than I will have. However I am sure I won’t have too many issues seeking freelance work for a while until I get a more permanent placement. This could be approaching smaller companies who haven’t the need for a permanent technician in place and asking them if they have any jobs that I could assist them with, or perhaps if they are planning on setting up any equipment in the future that I could assist with. For a year I plan on being as open as possible to any opportunities that I can find and I will work to build up a strong portfolio of experience so that I can find myself a far more stable placement somewhere that can afford to have a permanent technician in place to be on hand for any issues the workplace encounters.

As for longer term opportunities that I have in mind, is that I could pursue building up my own company that specialises in the maintenance of audio visual gear, and then I could have a lot more freedom of work – as well as in the far future, hiring my own employees who are also fresh out of university or otherwise in need of work in the field and take them on.
